  Improvised electronic musician and composer.
  Ikeda improvises electronic sound particles by stitching together FM sine waves with unique processing, and attempts to make the listener relive the fluctuation, decay and disappearance of their “internal landscape” at the moment of rise and disappearance.
  He has recorded six solo albums and collaborated with David Toop, Eddie Prevost, John Russell, Carl Stone, etc.
  He has also produced numerous soundtracks for contemporary art and modern dance, including Hiroshi Sugimoto, Tadanori Yokoo, Mariko Mori, Min Tanaka, Komuai and David Lynch.

  When I listen to the song ‘Behind the Mask’, I feel a strange kind of malaise that can neither be described as positive nor negative. In the ancient Chinese theory of yin and yang, the ‘other side of the mask’ is yin, but Sakamoto says in his vocoder, “There is nothing in your eyes. All is blank. All is blind”. The melody and chord progression, with its emptiness and sense of loss, seem to foretell the lack of yin and yang (or concealment) in modern Japan, which refuses to take off the mask even though the Corona disaster is about to end.
