  I have followed Mr. Sakamoto’s work for many years. This has included many different forms of his work, starting with YMO. He and I met when we were both included in the »Mediascape« show in NYC at the Guggenheim Museum Soho, NYC (1996). I have very much enjoyed his film scores, solo piano, and the many collaborations he has taken on including his work with David Sylvian, Alva Noto, Taylor Deupree, Illuha, Christian Fennesz, Christopher Willits and Iggy Pop. I have also enjoyed his acting especially in relation to working with David Bowie in Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence. I was very moved by Mr. Sakamoto’s death…
